Meet the Team

Johnna Sherman
Founder SUD Counselor
I am a Certified Reciprocal Alcohol and Drug Counselor, a Peer Support Specialist, and MRT (Moral Reconation Therapy) trained professional with a Wellness Certification and over 16 years in personal recovery. My experience in recovery fuels my passion for helping others find hope and healing through individualized, compassionate care. I believe in a person-centered approach—meeting people where they are in life, honoring their unique journeys, and treating every individual with dignity and respect. My goal is to empower others to build meaningful lives beyond addiction and discover their own paths to wellness and recovery.

Shay Smithson
Founder Care Coordinator SUD Counselor
Qualified Behavioral Health Professional (MAADC II) and Specialized Care Coordinator with over a decade of experience in recovery and behavioral health. I hold dual bachelor’s degrees in Criminal Justice and Psychology, which help me address both the behavioral and systemic factors that shape recovery.
Since 2014, I’ve provided care coordination, case management, and treatment services across Howell, Shannon, and Oregon Counties, and I’m certified in Moral Reconation Therapy (MRT) to support lasting behavioral change.
My passion is deeply personal — I’ve walked my own journey through addiction and recovery. When I gave my life to God, everything changed. That experience now drives my mission to help others find healing, hope, and purpose through recovery.

Michael Smithson
Peer Support AAMC III
My name is Michael Smithson. After over 25 years of living with addiction, I gave my life to God and committed to a recovery housing program, which transformed my path. I know firsthand the struggles of recovery and reintegration, and I use that experience to support others with empathy and understanding.
I’m currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Trauma Certification specializing in addiction, and I’m AAMC Level 3 certified and trained in peer support services, equipping me to meet clients where they are and guide them toward lasting change.
